Front the specs above we can see that in terms of camera, gionee m5 lite and gionee m5 has the same front facing camera. The only difference here is that gionee m5 came with a 13MP back or rear camera with flash and 8MP on the gionee m5 lite. Thats a win for the gionee m5 as it spots a better camera which amazing pictures compared to those on the M5 lite, which is not that bad too.

Gionee m5 lite has a 5.0 inches screen size while gionee m5 screen size is 5.5 inches. The only difference between gionee m5 and m5 lite in terms of display is the screen sizes, they both has the screen resolution of 720 * 1280 pixels. There’s no winner here because screen size is a matter of choice, some people prefer larger or bigger screens while others don’t.

In term of performance, gionee m5 will be faster because it spots a slightly better gpu and cpu as compared to the ones on m5 lite. So Gionee m5 wins in this aspect, but seriously you might not notice the difference between these two phone on a normal usage.

This is where the Gionee m5 is a monster, it packs a massive 60290mAh battery capacity, Wow! while gionee m5 lite has a 4000mah battery. Well, not that the battery on m5 lite is not good, but seriously 6020mAh is overkill. You will get a decent amount of day to day usage on the m5 lite, but m5 is clear winner here its it will last longer than m5 lite.
Memory
16GB internal / 2GB RAM on M5 lite

32GB internal / 3GB RAM on M5
From the above specs you can see that gionee m5 lite has 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM while Gionee m5 features 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. The specs speaks for itself, m5 has a larger space for storing your videos, images, musics and other files. There’s also a slot for SD card on both phones which support up to 128GB for m5 and 256GB for m5 lite. This is how gionee fixed the lapse on m5 lite internal storage, if the one on the phone is not enough for you, expand with a micro sd card. Bigger RAM means better multi-tasking, so m5 is still better in this aspect because of its 3GB of RAM compared to the 2Gb on m5 lite.

A phone needs 4G lte for faster browsing and downloads, that is why there is support for 4G LTE on the M5, but unfortunately there is no 4G lte on the m5 lite. But some people might say “who cares? am okay with 3G”, so if you are that kind of person, then the absence of 4g lte on m5 lite wont bother you that much. But if you like good internet speed and connection, you might want to check out the bigger brother (m5) of m5 lite. The winner here is Gionee m5.
Security
There is no fingerprint reader or sensor or Iris scanner on both m5 and m5 lite. But they both has support for software security like pin, password and the rest.
Operating System
Both devices and running on android 5.1 lollipop with the usual huawei’s skin on top.
Which is Better, Gionee M5 or M5 lite?
So, which should you buy? For me, gionee m5 is far more better in terms of specification as it has a better camera, larger battery, internal storage and RAM, its also faster than gionee m5 lite in speed and performance. Well you might have a different view than mine, its up to you to make the choice on which one to buy, if you like the added features on the m5, go for it, else buy the lighter version (m5 lite) which has a slightly lower specs.
